1. Create A Swipe File:
   A swipe file is a collection of inspiration. Whenever you come across a marketing piece that you deem impressive, immediately download it to your swipe file. Your collection should also include historically proven pieces of work from marketing ‘legends’. By immersing yourself in the best work, you're setting the stage for your own work to become amongst the best.
   
   

2. Rewrite, Rewrite, Rewrite!
   Ever heard the phrase "practice makes perfect"? Here is a simple daily exercise that you can execute to quickly improve your understanding of digital marketing: Take a random piece from your swipe file and rewrite it by hand from beginning to end. It is extremely important that you do this by hand, on paper. Reason being, it is not just about understanding the words; it's about imprinting them into your muscle memory. You need to feel the rhythm of the text and truly absorb its cadence. Over time, you will start to notice “patterns” in the best work you study. And you will be able to recreate these “patterns” in your own work.
   
   

3. Make it a daily habit
   However, simply analyzing existing text/copy is not enough. You also need to analyze how the marketing process works on a macro level. How does the ad catch its readers attention as they are scrolling through their Facebook feed? To what type of page does the ad lead? Does this webpage have any links? Does it require the reader to perform any actions to proceed to a different page? To where do these links lead? How does the overall sales funnel work?
   
   Set aside a few minutes each day to study marketing “circuits”. In short, strive to gain a deep understanding of the psychology behind digital marketing campaigns.
